& SUPERVISION RULES
FIRST VISIT?
We’re stoked you’re here!
If this is the first time you’re supervising someone, we have some procedures you need to follow.
When you arrive at Crashpad, a member of Front Desk staff will help you get started.
FIRST VISIT?
STEP 1
- Before you arrive at Crashpad, create your account on Clava.
Please note: Only the parent of the child can do this. Other 18+ adults can supervise, but child account has to be created by parent or legal guardian at law.
- Go to Family in your Clava Profile.
- Adds Youths as Family entering their names, surname and date of birth
STEP 2
- Fill out the Supervised Acknowledgement of Risk form, found under Waivers & Documents for each youth who will be climbing.
- Please watch our short Introductory Safety Video.
STEP 3
Once your paperwork is sorted, a qualified team member will give you a quick introductory safety briefing.
STEP 4
Get your shoes on, do some warming up, and enjoy your climbing session!
SUPERVISION RULES
- Only climbers above 5 years of age can climb at Crashpad
- Climbers under 8 years old have to climb only at MiniPad
- Any adults can supervise climbers as long as the parent has completed all the paperwork
- Each adult can supervise one under 8 youth
- Each adult can supervise 2 under 18 year old youths
- Supervisors must keep youths within 2 metres of them at all times and remain completely responsible for the wellbeing of supervised children
- Only professional instructors, coaches can supervise more than 2 people

Climbing Safety Rules
While we want you to enjoy your climbing, we require you to abide by these safety rules. Members not abiding by these rules may be warned or asked to leave the gym.
- Always be aware of climbers around you
- Stay away from the climbing walls when you are not climbing
- No walking from under the arch
- No standing or walking under other climbers
- Do not touch or climb over the edge of the wall except in Top Out designated area
- No phones on person or on the bouldering mats while climbing
- Water bottles to be left in the watering holes
- No barefoot climbing or climbing with socks
- No shirtless climbing
